Night Hike In The Woods Of Kentucky

So today we went to my coworker Dony's house. It was the best house ever! It was way out in the woods, right up against a creek with an old gristmill on it. We went down by the mill and down to the creek. Oh, it was nighttime.. So there were no lights at all.

All those are pictures of the front of the mill. It is no longer in use, but Dony said that they used to do period reenactments every weekend. He said it was built back in the mid 1800s. We didn't take that many pictures since it was pitch black (we had no flashlights btw) but he said we can come back during the day sometime..

The whole purpose of the trip out to Dony's was to go on this night hike down to this graveyard in the middle of the woods. REALLY in the MIDDLE of the woods. It was sooo dark by the time we got down there. And there were only six of us that went.. So dark.

It was an old family graveyard owned by the people that own the land Dony lives on.

This is the entrance.

Remember, this is in the MIDDLE OF THE WOODS. No houses for about a mile, and woods so dense you could hardly see.

This is the angel on one side of the enrance.

These are the graves. They are from about 1996 and up. But Dony said there were a couple that were a lot older. There are also some graves in front of his house from the 1700s.

It was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I can't wait to go back there.

O' Mighty King of Dreaming

Well, this is my first attempt at charcoal. This isn't the whole picture, just the part I liked the most. I didn't really like any of it, but this was ok. And of course, Teresa comes along after me and creates this amazing picture of Death with charcoal.. Damn her and her talent!!

I watched the Family Guy season premiere. Funny, but disappointing. It could have been much better as it was an entire episode dedicated to Star Wars.

Eh.

Mr. Sandman (Amoung Others)

So I started reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman comic the other day. I know, like 10 years too late, but better late than never. Plus, I have read like ALL of his other books...

Anywho, just felt like doing some art of the ol' Dream King. Sandman is amazing by the way.

We got Halloween lights. I'll post pics next time.

Don't Forget To Breathe

So my mom came to visit me this week. That was really cool. I haven't seen her since May and she recently (two months ago) moved to Virginia.

She kept wanting me to come visit her, but I really want people to come out and see how we are making it out here. You know, show they around my town and show them where we hang out and all that. I mean, I would like Teresa to go meet my mom's side of the family, who all live on the East Coast, but I think first, I want them to come see where we live.

I dunno.

My dad had his son. So now I have a... half brother? Not sure what he is. Step brother? Is that the same? I don't know. Got sent some pictures, looks cute, but as Teresa said, "all babies look the same at that age (three days)."

Uh, I was going to write more, but Teresa is in the other room watching Iron Chef and I want to bathe in it's ridiculousness.

I drew the pic from listening to Bitter:Sweet's "Don't Forget To Breathe" and drew it on Halloween paper from Michaels.

Oh So Good

I just got this CD at ear X-tacy. It's a really great remix CD of a really great CD (The Mating Game). Bitter:Sweet ROCKS! I highly recommend them.

Carnival Of Rust

I liked this video.

Spider Season?

Seems that way anyways. Today we found a pretty sizable spider in the shower. It couldn't really get out, but Teresa said it was because it was a spider that didn't really rely on webs so it's feet (?) can't grip stuff unless the stuff is really textured.

So, we scooped it up and put it out on the balcony, but not before I thought of a spider taking a bath, hence the picture.

Today was supposed to be my day off, but someone called in, so they called me at 7:30 in the morning and asked me to come in at 10. They said someone would even come pick me up! I debated about it long and hard, but since it meant that I would instead have Sunday off with Teresa instead of today off with no one, I went for it.

It actually worked out well because the person who came to pick me up didn't even get here until around 10:20, then she wanted to go to McDonald's and buy everyone in the bakery breakfast! We ended up not getting to work until about 11 because they screwed up our order. So I only had to work 11 to 5 and I get a day off with Teresa!

I tell ya, so far, this month is doing a pretty good job of making up for last month.

PLUS, Target started getting in their HALLOWEEN STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG Teresa and I almost exploded running around there today, and they just started putting it up. I can't wait for another week or so when IT'S EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

Yay!

Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust

I don't care if you like the music or not, this video is amazing.

The cellists are my heroes.

So there is this spider hanging out in the doorway to our apartment building. It's so cool because it was actually in the process of spinning it's web when I saw it. It made me want to draw a picture.

BUT the crazy thing is, like AS SOON AS I POSTED IT on deviantArt, 4 people faved it and one said they wanted it as a print! I feel lame for getting so excited, but people rarely comment on my art on dA and even rarer do they fav. PLUS REQUESTING A PRINT? Unheard of.

Here's a pic of the spider in action.... well, more like just chillin'

Oh also. Teresa, for some unknown reason (well, actually, she had a dream about it) has become OBSESSED with bentos. Like staying up way late every night and being almost late to work like every day because she has been looking at bento pictures and recipes. It's ridiculous.

But it did result in me getting this WICKED AWESOME Nightmare Before Christmas bento set. And it means that she is going to start making me lunches! How sweet is that!

Bow to it's awesomenes!!

Hmm... it seems there was something else I was going to post about. but now I can't remember. Oh well. OH right, I got Brain Age 2 today for the DS. My brain age is 50. Lame. Well, originally it was 57, but after training for just one day, it was down to 50.

That game is hard, it makes me feel dumb, and it actually makes the front part of my brain hurt. That's a good sign since that is the part of the brain it is working and when you work a muscle that hasn't been used in a while, it can get sore!

Biloba, Ginko

Ginko rocks! He's so badass.

We watched episode five today. I can't wait for the rest of the DVDs to come out so I can remember all the amazingness that is Mushishi!

So Far September is OKAY

So last month sucked. A Lot. That's it. Plain and simple.

MONTH FROM HELL.

This month, although it is only on it's third day, has been quite enjoyable. Even things that I thought were going to be bad (i.e. the oven at work not working. I work in a Bakery... we kind of NEED an oven) actually worked out quite well since it meant I didn't really have to do anything all day except make garlic bread. I didn't even have to make Chocolate Chewies, which I detest more than any other thing I have to make (which of course means that everyone loves them and I have to make them like every 3 days.)

Plus, starting tomorrow at work, I don't have to be there until 10 am! Since up until now I've had to be there at 7 am, this is quite a nice change. I do have to stay until about 5 or 6 though, but since Teresa is never home until around 6 anyways, it doesn't matter. Plus I can listen to whatever music and no one will be like, 'uh, wtf?'

Yesterday, Teresa and I went to Williams Sonoma at the mall up the street. They have a lot of really nice kitchen things and are kind of really expensive. But we really like the stuff they have. LIKE what I got! They had various Halloween themed goodies (since that most amazing of holidays is coming up) such as ghost/bat/pumpkin spatulas; skeleton/spider-web aprons; 3-D cookie cutters; and jack-o-lantern/witch/bat pancakes molds. I bought the pancakes molds. They ROCK.

And there was a delicious recipe for buttermilk pancakes on the box, so we had an amazing Halloween breakfast today, complete with maple bacon and orange juice!

I love days off.

We also found out, by removing the bottom drawer of our fridge, that the previous tenants seem to have spilled Mountain Dew, or some other violently green liquid, into the bottom of the fridge. GROSS. Since it seems to have solidified into neon green syrupglue.

Hurray.

蟲師 Mushishi Trailer

I just got volume 1 of Mushishi. I forgot how much I like this anime! Then, I remembered that they were making a live-action movie, AND IT LOOKS AMAZING! I want the DVD so bad and it comes out on Oct 6 so I'm soo going to get it!

PS this anime is "Serial Experiments LAIN meets Miyazaki" according to Teresa. Basically, it's amazing!
