Cincinnati Museum Center At Union Terminal

This past Monday, we all crowded in the car and drove up to Cincinnati. Our main point was to visit the Museum Center At Union Terminal. Basically, they took an old (and HUGE) train station, and converted it into four museums!

We only went the the Natural History Museum and the Duke Energy Children's Museum, but they were both AWESOME!

Huber's Farm

This past monday, we went to Huber's Farm in Indiana. It's about 45 minutes away and has a bunch of stuff to do. We went mainly for the pumpkin patch, but we also went through a corn maze and got to feed some livestock!

Dahlia really enjoyed seeing and feeding the goats!

Sorry to everyone awaiting the videos... I feel like I'm so busy all the time that when I have some free time I don't want to wait around to get videos uploaded. But I do upload a lot to my youtube.. since I can now do it from my phone..

So Dahlia had her six month check up yesterday. Everything went well. She is 20 lbs and 27 inches. Since she is now six months, we can start giving her "solid" foods.. Meaning, pureed foods. So today, Teresa started her off with sweet potatoes. She really seems to enjoy them too!

Can't wait until she can have more food..

Yup. Rife with pictures. Not so much on the word front. I have to keep peeking around to see if Dahlia is going to wake up. Makes it a bit hard to type a lot..

How much snow we got the first day. 4-6 inches. Then 4 inches freezing rain (read:ICE!). Then 6-12 more inches snow. Then everything KIND OF melted and then it snowed about 6 more inches. There was some ridiculous 600,00 w/o power?? something like that.....

Awwwwwwwwwww.... so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this today. It is (ALMOST) the end of getting this piece worked on. It's super red right now but will heal lighter and no red! Better pics later.

Well, these are actually supposed to be in completely the opposite order! But Blogger uploads in a way I don't like and I don't feel like fixing it. The first few of these were taken by my dad ('cept the first three, taken by Teresa with his camera) when he was here a couple weeks ago. 3 Months ago yesterday!

So Dahlia turned THREE MONTHS OLD yesterday!! OMG! It's so crazy..

It's been an intense three months. Definitely the most emotionally trying of any I've ever been through. As crummy as some times have been, Dahlia has definitely gotten me through all of it.

I hope all the years to come will be just as amazing as these three months have been, although hopefully with a little less sadness and stress..

Here's a bunch of pictures of Dahlia from the past couple of days.

I can't believe that it has already been two months. SO much has happened, so much has changed, and nothing is still the same. She seems like she has been with us forever but we are figuring new things out all the time. I can't wait to see what the future holds, but know every day that passes takes us one more day farther from her being so small. I know she's still small and she still has a LOOOONG way to go, but I know it will be the future very quickly..

I mean, she doesn't even fit new born clothes anymore!

Going back to work has been one of the hardest things ever. The only thing that really makes it worth it is being able to come home to my two lovely ladies. And when that little girl smiles at me, my day is totally forgotten about.

Next week, Teresa goes back, and Im dreading that even more. I'll never get to see her..

It's been a while...

These were all taken on a recent trip to Lynchburg, VA to visit my mom. This post is all camera pics and tomorrow I will do one with iPhone pics.

I will update tomorrow with details, but mostly the house with water is my Aunt Carolyn's husband (my uncle?) Don's house. The house with trees outside and wood inside in my Uncle Neil and Aunt Dot's house. The first house is in Johnson City, TN and the other in Lynchburg. This is where I have been for half of my baby leave. I wish I hadn't been there since we are only there under the worst circumstances, but it was a really nice place.

And the others are all Dahlia and Teresa. Oh, and the cat is Don's. Her name is Puss. She is amazing and catches salmon out of the river and full grown ducks out of the pond.

I'll post more tomorrow.

P.S. I thought 1.99 a gallon was cheap, but that was in Lynchbug, We got back home and it's gone from 1.95 to 1.91 since last night. NICE!

Day 4

Today went really well. Teresa and I were both able to get some really good, MUCH NEEDED, rest. And some really great pictures. Hard to believe the little one is already 5 days old. It's crazy how time is working right now. I thought time was messed up that last month of waiting.

I also came to an odd realization today that as new as Dahlia is, she is as familiar as Teresa's or my face. It is the mix of us in her that makes it like looking at Teresa or looking in the mirror but slightly different.

It's a very strange feeling but one that is really amazing and awesome.

We took some pictures with Teresa's camera today, which, as you'll see, takes much better pictures than my phone.

More to come tomorrow.

Day 3.

Not really any words today.

'Cept Dahlia had her first pediatrician's appointment today. She did really well and is gaining weight again already. When she was born she was 7lb 14oz, when we left the hospital on Wednesday, she was 7lb 8oz. And today she was 7lb 10oz! hooray. So she is feeding well and everything is going really great. Still not a lot of sleep happening on my end, but that's alright, as along as Teresa and Dahlia are getting sleep than that's all that matters.

She's here!!

Dahlia Ang (that's right, no middle name!) was born at 12:22 PM on September 29, 2008 at Norton Suburban Women's Pavillion here in Louisville. Teresa's water broke at 1:30 Am Monday morning and we got to the hospital at about 2:30. Hard labor started around 10:30 AM

She weighed 7lb 14oz at birth and was 20.5 inches. All the toes and fingers and noses and ear are there!

So this is a very picture heavy post.. since I haven't been able to update since last week. SINCE THE POWER HAS BEEN OUT FOR 7 DAYS!!

The remnants of Hurricane Ike came through on Sunday (last week) and blew out power for around 300,000 people in Louisville. The largest power outage in Louisville history.

I'll put a caption for each one..

This next set is a stuffed animal/man that my coworker got for me. It's amazing.

This is a candle we got to help cope with the power outage. We got it at Target and it's amazing. The wax inside is red, so it looks like its bleeding, and when it melts to the eyes, the wax pours out of them...

This is a couple of trees from the storm. This was today. The storm was on Sunday a week ago. I can't imagine what it was like when this storm was at full power. There was an amazing amount of downed trees and power lines around here. And there still are.

Another couple of trees knocked over. Winds were steady at 38 mph gusting to 75 mph. It was the same as a category 1 hurricane

36 Weeks, 4 days, 6 pounds, 11 ounces (or there abouts)

OMG! We got new ultrasounds pictures!!! We went to the doctor today and we got to have another ultrasound and based on the measurements she is at 36 weeks 4 days and weighs 6lbs 11oz (which is apparently a little big, they said average is 6lbs)

She wasn't really cooperating for photos, but they turned out cute anyway! (She just kept putting her hand in front of her face.. already so melodramatic....)

I've also got pics from the babyshower, but I will post them tomorrow.

Okay so HOLY CRAP this post has a lot of pictures! I'm just going to put little descriptions on them cuz they don't need much explaining.

These are photos from Jungle Jim's, a pet store, our baby shower (#1), and our second trip to Berheim Forest:

First things first: 32 weeks!!!

An 8 week old Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua+Wiener dog) at the pet store at Jungle Jim's. So DARN CUTE! Too bad it cost $1000.

Just a couple pics to show how awesome Jungle Jim's is. The first is just kind of a "OMG so much stuff" shot and the second in one of the MANY animatronics they have throughout the store. It's Robin Hood and gang and it's in the English section.

A diaper bag Teresa's co-worker got her. It's good cuz it doesn't look like a diaper bad so much.

As part of the decorations for the shower, Teresa's mom put up all these little gifts. This is one of them.

This is a Rainforest blanket that we got from Teresa's cousins. IT'S SO SOFT!!

This is a hooded towel/washcloth set that the same co-worker got us. It also came with little floaty toys!

Now this was awesome! It's entirely made of diapers!! And there was a bottle inside! So cool.

This is the piece de resistance. It's a Graco Pack N Play that Teresa's Grandpa got for us. It's a playyard on the bottom. A bassinet on top, and it's got a changing pad, and a little thingy that play music and lights up and has nature sounds. Basically=AWESOME!

And now for Bernheim. This is an old, abandoned silk-worn nest. Pretty cool...

That grey, blurry thing in the middle on the leaf is actually a leaf bug but for some reason I couldn't focus on it..

This was a bridge that went off the edge of a hill and into the tree canopy. It got REALLY high up REALLY fast!!! And it was not the most stable thing in the world....

You can kind of see how high it is here...

Just a cool shot of lily pads with the sky reflected in the back.

These were some odd little towers down by the lake front. Not sure what they are but they are reminiscent of termite hills. But much smaller...

And finally, there were these bushes that had butterflies ALL OVER THEM. I took a lot of pics of them, but these are the best and I didn't want to put a ton of the same stuff up. I was so close I could have touched them.

27 weeks!! Holy crap time is flying. Babycenter says there is only 91 days to go! A to the countdown on my cell phone, there is 88 days 11 hours 23 minutes remaining until 12:01 AM on October 3, 2008. Here's some baby stuff we got and some belly pics and what not.

Teresa said: "I look fat." .... YOU'RE PREGNANT!!!! NOT FAT.

This is a carseat that Teresa's mom got from one of her coworkers for us. Cool.

It goes with this stoller.

A crib that she got us full of bags of baby clothes that one of Teresa's coworkers gave us.

And finally, a table we got at IKEA with four chairs that is much smaller then the table we had previously (can be seen in background) Which is good for us, since there is only 2 of us (and a baby on the way) and we don't need a huge table to eat dinner.

Not that we ever eat at the table anyway...

Our Trip To Bernheim

So the other week, Teresa and I went to Bernheim Arboretum & Research Forest. It's about a 25 minute drive from our apartment. Kentucky is amazing like that. I mean, you can drive LITERALLY 5 minutes and be in a forest looking area. And this is this 16th largest city in the US. Crazyness.

Anyways, we went there to have a picnic. And it was amazing. Here's some photos. Enjoy.

GIRL | | | | apparently.. Those three lines inside the circle=girl! YAY!! I'm so excited!

We got some 4-D images.. they are a little creepy since it's all 3 dimensional and what not.. not sure why they are 4-D. I thought it was time.. since that is the fourth dimension, but nope. I guess maybe color since the 3-D ones were in b&w.

That's her little head and face and body. You can see the right side of the face with an ear a nose and eyes and mouth. She is basically laying on the placenta on her stomach like it's a big comfy bean bag chair! n_n

This is a really clear shot of the face and an arm and hand. Plus you can see her little knee poking up. Kind of creepy but really cool. Our little girl is a skeleton baby!! already in costume for Halloween!

Teresa doesn't like the one with her face in it but since this is my blog and I think she's beautiful, I'm putting it in. We find out the sex and get the ultrasound on the 19th!! I'm so excited!

More Snow Sacramento And BABIES!

So it's snowing. Again. It's been snowing since last night. We are supposedly going to get like anywhere from 4-6 inches to 10-12 inches. Everyone I've talked to has told me different.. so I'm not sure. Anyway, it's supposed to snow until tomorrow afternoon.

So the second or first day we were in Sacramento.. or maybe even the third or fourth... there was a lunar eclipse. It was pretty awesome, but (as amazing as it IS) Teresa's camera doesn't operate the best in low light settings. So out of like 10 pictures, only 2 came out in a way that I really like....

Hooray for Blood Moons and whatnot.

When we were in Sacramento, we kind of planned a lot of it around eating at places that aren't out here in KY. Such as Jack-In-The-Box, Squeeze Inn... well, I guess those were really the only two. I had never been to Squeeze Inn before and HOLY CRAP their burgers are effin' huge and killer. As in if you eat one you may die.

They call it a "cheese skirt" more like a nice helping of slow death. This place is so good it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

Not only do they have killer burgers, but they also serve mutant fries:

While we were in Elk Grove, we also met up with Toni and Meri (owner of Dessertopia (where I used to work) and owner's daughter). They met up with us at Red Robin (yum) and Meri brought her new baby daughter! So cute!! Teresa had fun holding the baby....

Crazy.

Of course while we were there, we hung out with Lorenzo. At Starbucks. Cuz OMG he loves his Starbucks.

More Snow!!

So it snowed rained Monday, then snowed Monday night. Then it rained Tuesday, melting some of the snow. Then FROZE last night, and is snowing off and on again today!! Hooray for safe driving!!

This is a U-Haul that's been sitting since the snow started. Plus I think you can see some snow falling in this picture.

This is just a house we can see from the balcony. I think I'm going to try to get Teresa to go on a walk into that neighborhood later so we can take pictures. There are some really nice houses back there.

So Teresa and I layed down for our (mostly) daily nap at around 5:00 PM today. It was a cold (15 degrees) and clear day. When we woke up at about 6:30 we found this....

Made from the Glow-In-The-Dark Premo I got today. I used the new sculpting tool set too and I'm so happy with how smooth and awesome it came out. At first I didn't like the Premo since it was a lot harder than the Sculpey, but it ended up coming out a lot better!

Sculpey III

So yesterday, Teresa and I went to this place called Dee's. It's an arts and crafts store. Basically... Michaels meets a bead store. We went there because she has been looking around on deviantART for a while now, looking at all these Sculpey things. Sculpey is a form of modeling clay that once you are done making something, you can bake it in the oven, and it becomes hard. So you can make phone charms, ornaments, figurines... a whole lotta stuff basically.

So we went to the store and got some and came home and started making stuff. I've only made 2 things, and they could be A LOT better because we don't have sand paper right now, so they are kind of ROUGH AS HELL. And my painting needs MUCHO improvement.

Anywho. I made an octopus based off this person's tutorial. It's okay, but I painted it black. And there's no eyes.

The other thing I made was Shnitzel from Chowder. He rocks. This is about 1.25 inches tall.

So hopefully, Teresa is going to get glaze and sandpaper today at Michaels and then these will look a lot better. The glaze will make them shiny and durable.
